Future Plan

Just realized that year 2004 is coming to the end. I haven't achieved anything yet except, have two bad results, and completed six required courses for my graduate study. Before I started my grad school, I have a lot of plans to learn a lot of things but, it is almost one year and I haven't achieve any of my goals. So, that's what I am gonna do next year:
1. Study abroad to Costa Rica. (Working on it now :) )
2. Taking Spanish classes
3. Expertised my ballroom dancing skills
4. Learn some Latin dances (shake your butt! babe..)
5. Taking Personal Fitness Training Program
6. Managing my money(I am very bad at that) and try to have some savings

The most important thing, COMPLETE MY RESEARCH!! So that I can go back for Chinese New Year in 2006 :) Keep our finger crossed. Hope the equipments wont broke down. Hehehe..Miss Chinese New Year sooo much!! I want to eat eat eat!!

God Bless them

God bless those earthquake victims. I was very shock and sad to hear that so many people died. Hope all those countries get the help they need so that it wont turn out to be some even serious disease spreading among all those victims. I heard from the news that some evacuated victims haven't been drinking water for days and some didn't even get food. Let's pray together for those victims..
UN, please do your job and minimize this disaster.

First Part of My Winter Break

This picture was taken by some random stranger who was waiting to take a picture with this sculpture. I can't remember who this sculpture is, but, emm..I remember he is quite famous and is a symbol of Texas Tech?? Ok, sis, Clear it up!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I went to my sister's graduation last weekend. It was pretty fun. I haven't seen her for almost a year. It was nice to catch up with her. We chatted, shopped and watched a lot of movies. We went to the mall (bigger than North Grand Mall in Ames) everyday!! EVERYDAY!! Hahaha..We were trying to get some birthday presents(ie Chinese New Year clothes) for our mum and of course, some for ourselves.
I also visited her university, Texas Tech. It is a very very HUGE university! The buildings are scatter all over the place and I can't imagine walking across the campus to catch another class when you only have 10 minutes between classes. It must be torturing, but maybe, is good for your health . I think people here needs to learn how to roller blade or skate board so that they wont be late for classes. Luckily they don't snow as much as we have in Ames. If not, it is going to be a big disaster for the students.
If you want me to compare Lubbock and Ames, I still prefer Ames. Can you imagine how hot it will be during summer when they have 70F in the mid of December? I can't imagine living there during summer. It might be even worse than the weather in Malaysia. Why my sis always choose some places with extreme weather? Montana --> extreme COLD and now, Texas --> extreme HOT!! Hmm... gotta ask her sometimes..
Even though Ames is a lot smaller than Lubbock, the houses aren't scatter around like Lubbock. It makes me feel safer. Even though Ames can be really really quiet during summer or semester break, I still love it. It is not that crowded and it makes you feel like you own the city. The facilities in Ames are a lot better than Lubbock too. We have buses running around almost everyday and every 10 minutes during school hour until late at night. We also have special buses like Moonlight Express(cute name, huh?) running every Friday and Saturday night for those drunkies so that they wont drink and drive. You can't find this in many other universities.
Before the semester break, I helped my friend bringing a Japanese girl around when she came over to visit the university. She was thinking of transfer to ISU from California. After talking and introducing her to all the facilities, programs and activities we have in Iowa State, I started to realize how lucky I am. I always thought that these are common and offered in every university and apparently that is not the case. I always took things for granted and now I know how lucky I am to be able to study here.
Well, one thing that diappointed me about getting my Master degree in ISU is that we don't have cool graduation gown!! Master graduation gown in Texas Tech is a lot cooler than ISU. They have hood in addition to the gown and cap. Their hood have different color for different college or major. It is so sad!! For Bachelor degree, I think ISU is still cooler than Texas Tech . Hehehe..we have different tassel color for each college or major but they have only one color for all. Should write a letter to ISU to ask them to change the Master gown. Hmm...
