Behind every successful man, there is a woman.

The auditor gave this comment to my GM and me (refer to our working relationship) at the end of the inspection. This phrase kinda stuck in my mind.

Can I be the successful woman instead of the woman behind the man? Is this a compliment or is this...

Is there some sort of gender discrimination in this statement? Can it be the other way round?
